RTC Board Meeting
Tuesday, February 9, 2010
The Prosperity Center, 520 E Street, Eureka

Present: Mary Cruse, Michael Kraft, Bob Morse, Steve Stratton, Seth Johanessen
Absent: Daria Topousis

Stuff at Daria’s house:
-Steve can take it
-Michael says food and sodas can be given to Food for People, if they’re within expiration date

Board roles next year:
-Mary accepts nomination for president
-New board members- Need current board members to brainstorm via e-mail
-Michael likely stepping down within the next 12 months
-Treasurer ought to be a detail-oriented person who can keep up with paperwork

-Bob also mentioned stepping down eventually
-Seth says he can take on website, if needed
-Bring in dynamic new people at half-term?
-Bring in people interested in video game creation/new media

March luncheon:
-Per Steve: Thursday, March 11th 11am-1pm
-Lakeview Room @ CR
-room for 50 people eating/ 100 meeting
-Dashboard parking placards included
-Topic: Mary suggests online video, to promote your business
-Mary to organize speakers
-encourage student membership!!

Membership:
-Michael says we’re at a good stopping point for what we’ve been doing
-worked 2009 members and send mail to 2008 members who hadn’t renewed
-Need to nominate new members and invite them
-Time for outreach to students/younger members

Broadband forum/ARRA Funding:
-Probably “April-ish or May-ish,” per Gregg Foster
-Likely on adoption, not infrastructure
-ARRA Application out Feb. 15
-due March 15
-RTC members happy to review applications
-offer letters of support

Scholarship:
-Specify counties
-Discuss topics via e-mail
