[RTC List] Live e-community being tested in Humboldt

Greetings Tech Enthusiasts!
Social networks are all well and good, but there is still a need for
localized community web portals which give users a forum to discuss
local events and issues with their neighbors and community members.
Humboldt seems to be lacking this kind of tool... sure, there are
various forums for discussions, like the Humboldt LiveJournal pages or
one of the other local groups (is Humlug still around?), and we have
craigslist for posting classifieds, but it's all so big and spread out,
and we're really just piggybacking large companies and national trends
with those existing options.
Sprux LLC has recently launched Myrtletown.net
(http://www.myrtletown.net), a very local Web2.0 ecommunity which is
free to use for everyone. We developed this site as an experiment to
determine if the Humboldt area would even use an ecommunity if it became
available at no cost. At the present the site is based on the
Myrtletown area and focuses on that community, but it still invites all
of Humboldt to use and enjoy its services.
Questions? Comments? We are interested in all feedback! Thanks RTC!
Cheers,
Marshall Stokes
