Buried or aerial what we are talking about is a single source of failure.
This outage effected all of us; both large and small businesses.

 

Considering the circumstances, I believe we were all very lucky that we
could start business back on line Wed. morning. For us, it is interesting
that we lost all of our T1s but our PRI circuits were still operational.

 

And yes, it would be must less stressful knowing we have more than 1 feed
into the county.

Did anyone ever hear where exactly the break even happened? It's already a
bit frightening running a tech business from here knowing we're dependent on
a single strand of fiber, but it's even more frightening to know that it
includes aerial lines! Anyone have any idea how _much_ of the stretch to the
bay area is aerial or which parts? It's time for a buried cable to Redding
_yesterday_...
