Greetings fellow RTCers   ...

AT&T (aka Ma Bell) merely suffers from bad press release writing  ...  this 
IS worthy news in that deployment of DSL has been dramatically extended in the 
last 30 days to include many of the areas heretofore unserviced (such as 
Humboldt Hill, Cutten, etc.), and the pricing is a modest $15/month for basic 
service that is not a teaser rate or one that requires long-term contracts.

Again our local press is asleep at the switch and failed to cover what I 
consider to be a major improvement in our local broadband deployment efforts.

The moral of the story is ... all that appears slick is not necessarily spam.
