[RTC List] Write a Tech Beat by 10/17???

Ever wanted to write a Tech Beat article but never got around  to it? Well, 
here's your chance. We have an opening on Oct 17 (for publication  Oct 24). 
That gives you more than 2 weeks to come up with an idea or to put  words around 
that rant you've been thinking about. 
 
If you have a business, this is a GREAT way to get your name  out there. You 
can't do blatant advertising, but you can certainly establish  yourself as a 
local tech resource by writing these articles.
 
The rules of engagement are provided below. So sharpen those  pencils, crack 
those knuckles and get to work. Thanks for your consideration  !!!

TECH BEAT Rules of Engagement

Articles should be 500 - 800 words

Target it toward a general audience with an interest in  tech. If you 
include jargon, be sure to explain it. 

It's  okay to write about how your company utilizes technology, but 
please, no blatant sales pitches.

Include a short 1-2  sentence bio/company description at the end

Send a photo of yourself if  you haven't already done so 

Send your finished article  to Rene Agredano, or Chris Crawford

Rene (_rene at agreda.com_ (mailto:rene at agreda.com) )  and Chris 
(_crawfordca at aol.com_ (mailto:crawfordca at aol.com) ) will help 
   to edit your  article then submit it to the Times  Standard, Humboldt
   Beacon and Redwood Times.
