For those of you interested, on November 8 the planet Mercury will be
traveling across the disk of the sun. Normally we can't see Mercury at all,
but on November 8th those of us on the West Coast of the U.S. will be able
to see it move across the sun at sunrise and sunset. NASA plans on
webcasting an event that day targeted to teachers and students (mainly
grades 5-8).

For more event on the transit, see
http://www.astrosociety.org/education/publications/tnl/69/mercury.html

For NASA's webcast information, see:

Of course you should never look directly at the sun for a prolonged period
of time, so see the first site I referenced for information about how to
view this event without damaging your eyes.
