[RTC List] Apple Mail - sbcglobal to ATT-Yahoo secure

Hi Dwight. These file corruptions you are referring to sound like an Apple Mail specific problem, right? Not the first time I have heard complaints about that client. All our Macs run Eudora, and I am glad of it.
Anyway, I suspect there are system-wide problems with AT&T's new server problems.
Early on, I decided to wait until the last moment to make the servers changeover because things seemed to be working so well, and I did not want to mess with that. But recent AT&T emails have been quite urgent, and my sweetheart's sbcglobal.net address was having occasional problems connecting, so I assumed it was time for both of us because the old servers were likely being phased out. So last weekend I made the changes to both our computers.
But now that I have switched, I am regularly getting both time outs and "cannot connect" errors from the new servers, even though my timeout settings are pretty high (300 seconds). I'd estimate that this is happening to about 25-50% of my mail checks.
It is really a drag to have this degraded service. Sometimes I suspect that the servers are set to only allow so many mail checks per client IP in a given amount of time. But my telecommute requires that I really stay on top of my email, and I am checking two sbcglobal.net email addresses each time I check mail. So either way, bad server performance or limiting POP checks, this has been frustrating for me.
SSL is nice, but jiminy, AT&T, get your shift together.
