(Job #07-61) Analyst/Programmer (Career Level, Exempt) $2,085.00 -
$4,286.00/month. (Appointments are normally made at the beginning of the
salary range.) This is a half-time, 12-month, temporary, benefited
position in Central IT Systems and Services.
Duties: In a team-oriented environment, the responsibilities of the
Analyst/Programmer will include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing and implementing plans for integrated systems, services, and
applications;
Trouble analysis and resolution;
System and application monitoring;
Project planning;
Producing and maintaining documentation;
Configuring and administering application software on servers;
Writing custom SQL queries to run against a variety of databases.
Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience: Applicants should
possess the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in computer science,
computer information systems, engineering or a related field from an
accredited college or university, or the equivalent combination of
training and applied experience. An intermediate level of knowledge of
the following tools is required: Oracle RDBMS, SQL, scripting UNIX
commands, administering Windows servers, and writing Pro*C software.
Knowledge, Abilities & Specialized Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills are a must, plus the ability to think in a
logical and systematic fashion, particularly when troubleshooting or
planning server resources;
Strong working knowledge of current operating systems, databases, and
programming languages;
Ability to keep records, write professional quality documentation, and
work well with others in a team and with the campus community;
Must be able and willing to work some irregular hours, carry a pager,
and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in the California State
University system preferred; familiarity with SCT Banner, PeopleSoft, or
other enterprise information systems desired.
