Subject: [RTC List] Oysters and Ale: September 14 - Supporting Technology
Hi All!
Mark your calendars for September 14! --- there's a great upcoming event supporting the advancement of technology and WiFi in our public libraries. Thanks to the generosity of many we will be able to donate all funds we raise toward this effort. Access Humboldt stepped forward to serve as the primary sponsor along with Lost Coast Brewery but I especially want to mention the awesome work of Carson Park Design! ~ Joel and Lynn really gave their all on this project!! I can't even begin to count the number of pro bono hours they donated on the concept and design for the the various marketing pieces. Besides creating the logo they designed the poster, envelope stuffers and press release. I also want to publicly acknowledge their patience with a couple of rather energetic, enthusiastic and relentless clients!! (Thanks, guys!) Check out their blog for interesting background information on the graphics and design: blog.carsonparkdesign.com
If you'd like a low-resolution .pdf of the poster to help us advertise or just for kicks contact me off list at catherine95503 at yahoo.com ~ and please come to this RTC-supported event for an evening of fun that will help advance technology on the North Coast! ~ Kitty
Come to our special event!!! --- Debi Farber-Bush (Edward Jones Investments), Kitty Yancheff (Librarian - HSU & Humboldt County Library), and Barbara Groom (Owner,Lost Coast Brewery), have joined forces with Access Humboldt to produce Oysters and Ale on Woodley Island Friday, September 14 beginning at 5:30p.m. for a festival of food, music and fun benefiting the Humboldt County Library in the advancement of technology. We will also be celebrating the birthday of Alexander Von Humboldt.
Access Humboldt will be installing and facilitating the new services, working with the County of Humboldt, Suddenlink Communications and other partners to provide the libraries with broadband communications. The goal of this fundraiser is to offer free public Wi-Fi access to the main library and all the branches.
Join us under the big tent at 5:30p.m. for this 21 and older event. Tickets are $30 and can be used for refreshments provided by Lost Coast Brewery, Coast Seafoods, Eureka Natural Foods, and Humboldt Creamery. There will be music by NightHawk and a live auction with Rex Bohn to further support this effort.
We are very excited to be working on this event, it has been met with enthusiasm and anticipation at every turn. We have enlisted a very diverse group of volunteers to ensure the success of this event.
Tickets are $30 and can be puchased at Eureka Natural Foods, Lost Coast Brewery and Cafe, and The Works in Eureka and Arcata. Please make checks payable to Access Humboldt.
