[RTC List] Off topic posts

Friends,

Let¹s stop the off topic conversation on this list. While I don¹t think the
original post was necessarily off topic as it had to do with a calamity that
had befallen a member of our community, I believe the comments thereafter
have led us astray. As President of the Board of RTC, (and, btw, list
moderator) I ask you to take the discussion of what¹s appropriate to the
list and leash laws and who is deserving of a donation or caring  OFF LIST.
If you wish to complain about off topic posts do so to the original poster
and, if you want, copy me. But honestly, it always happens that the
discussion about what¹s appropriate on this list takes up far more bandwidth
than the original post that someone finds offensive.

If you feel you must comment about this, do so directly to the person who
wrote, and not to the list as a whole.

Secondly, please, please post messages to the list from the email address
where you are subscribed. If you don¹t, your message goes in to moderation.
I get a message that your message is in moderation and then I have to go to
the Mailman interface and deal with the message. This is a huge waste of
time.
