Subject: Invitation to Community Meetings on Broaband Access

An Invitation to All Redwood Coast Residents, Businesses and Groups
Interested in Broadband Access:

Interested in having reliable broadband service?

How would increasing your current Internet access make a difference

                                                for you & your community?

Redwood Coast Connect would like to hear from you!

Come to a Community Meeting to provide input on need for local broadband
service and what you think could be done about it!

Please check the list below for the dates and times of meetings in your
area:

All of the meetings will be held in the evenings from 5:30 to 7:30, at the
following locations:

* Tuesday, Jan. 8, Healy Senior Center, Redway

* Thursday, Jan. 10, Humboldt Bay Aquatics Center, Eureka

* Parking for Eureka meeting: Vehicles should be parked in the lot
between the Adorni Center and the Aquatic Center, or in the lot that is on
the east side of 2nd St.

Refreshments will be served. Persons needing special arrangements, such as
hearing-impaired, or non-English-speaking persons, are asked to request
assistance by emailing rcc at humboldt.edu, or calling the RCC office,
707-826-3919.

Redwood Coast Connect is a pilot project working to make broadband available
to rural communities in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity Counties
through:

*	Assessing and mapping the needs of users
*	Engaging telecom providers
*	Simplifying policies
*	Tapping the ingenuity of entrepreneurs in the region

Project organizers hope to hear from every segment of the community - from
parents, students, seniors, elected officials, and educators, to businesses,
the non-profit sector, health care, public services, and local government.
Through broad community input and collaboration, the project seeks to
identify opportunities for broadband deployment and to spur development of
uniform broadband-friendly policies in the four-county region.
