I agree about Denver.

At one point a few years ago United/Skywest were seriously talking about 
direct service to/from Denver and it looked as though it was going to 
happen.  I'm not sure what went wrong.  Most of my travel is to the East 
or Northeast so Delta to SLC doesn't help much; I'd certainly prefer a 
United link that didn't go through SFO unless I'm going international.  
About six or seven years ago United had service to/from Portland; that 
was very handy but I don't think they publicized it because there was 
never anyone much on the flights.
