[RTC List] Bringing Delta Airlines to the Eureka/Arcata Airport

Dear Michael,
Your approach is a minimalist approach. Save, don't travel,
sacrifice and conserve. That is but one approach, although it is the
only one that seems to be covered by the press and enviros.
We can also work on the supply side by planting more trees, etc.
Given our area, I feel that is far more logical. We should all try to
save/conserve and not be wasteful, but don't overlook the supply side
solution. In the long run, the supply solution is far more cost
effective and will lead with greater certainty to a good outcome, unless
of course, the real agenda is control over our fellow man and
destruction of our capitalistic system.
Read Lomborg for a very logical and well reasoned analysis on this
and other issues.
I plant over 300,000 trees per year, so I feel pretty comfortable
with my carbon footprint. Frankly, given what our area produces and
grows, we all should.
In the long run, we probably need both approaches, not just one or
the other.
    We need Delta.

                           Vty,

                           Rob

Hi John. Not sure how you made that leap, but I will say this.

Air travel is about as far as we can get from the sustainability that
both businesses and the public must figure out how to achieve. It is a
convenience choice which saves time, but at very large costs to the
environment.

It is not going to be easy, but we all must figure out how to correct
human-caused climate change. Telecommuting goes a long way toward that.
And voice- and teleconferencing can help as well.
