[RTC List] Bringing Delta Airlines to the Eureka/Arcata Airport

Ok, I've really been trying to refrain, and perhaps waiting for a list
moderator to pipe in . . . . but could we PU-LEASE keep this list focused on
technology issues affecting the North Coast?

These conversations too often go off topic and then degenerate into personal
stuff the rest of us don't have any interest in on this list ( there are
plenty of other forums to discuss these niche issues ).

If you feel a need to slam someone ( lots of Rob Arkley slammers out there
apparently; and frankly, I think Mr. Arkley has really tried well to put the
discussion back on topic ), please take it off-list.

As per the subject line here, this discussion should be about "Bringing
Delta Airlines to the Eureka/Arcata Airport", not about sustainability
views, political dichotomies, or personal jabs.

I'm pretty certain that by far most of us on this list are tech.
professionals . . . . and would prefer not to have our time wasted by this
off-topic banter.

This being said, one subject that did come up in all of this had to do with
the carbon footprint of servers. All of our servers are in a colo. in
Sacramento, and I've been wanting to start researching how I can determine
how we could estimate or calculate what our carbon footprint is for our 32 U
rack. I mean, we have the power to the machines themselves, the portion of
power used to control the environment, etc.

I haven't got started on the research on this yet, but if anyone could point
us toward a starting place, I'd appreciate it.

All the best,

-- Sean
