Byzantine federal policy proceedings and related regulatory
deliberations are not easy to follow - especially true of FCC related
actions - yet many of their outcomes will have profound impacts on
broadband and digital communications for the next generation.

For those interested in following the action day-to-day - here's a
fantastic resource - Benton Foundation's "Communications-related
Headlines" with a daily summary of key developments as reported in the
press:

Communications-related Headlines is a free online news summary service
provided by the Benton Foundation (www.benton.org). Posted Monday
through Friday, this service provides updates on important industry
developments, policy issues, and other related news events. While the
summaries are factually accurate, their often informal tone does not
always represent the tone of the original articles. Headlines are
compiled by Kevin Taglang headlines at benton.org -- we welcome your comments.

I am often tempted to forward clips to this list - but with respect for
attention spams ;-), have resolved to keep brief ...

Current hot topics include FCC media ownership rules and federal
spectrum policy (here's a couple of items from other sources related to
that):

* FCC ruling relies on faulty reading of current trends ** *

The future of the Internet, solving the rural broadband problem, and
saving independent journalism -- all hinge on the spectrum reform battle.

Happy Solstice to All, and all a good ... time.

Peace,
Sean
