I am sending this on in case any businesses are interested in an
additional network to diversify and lessen your risk after the outages
we've had. 101Netlink is selling wholesale T1 service to businesses. If
you're looking for residential/lower cost broadband service similar to
DSL or cable modem, this 101Netlink service is only sold in Southern
Humboldt. The Northern Humboldt product is wholesale T1. Tina

Hello Tina,

 

I have been meaning to contact you and let you know that 101Netlink is
providing a 150Mbps (OC3) microwave backbone between Ukiah and Eureka
along the Highway 101 corridor.  Our network is the only backbone, that
I am aware of, into Humboldt County other than ATT, (which, as you know,
ATT has been down twice in the last month).  Our network was not
affected by either of the two ATT outages, we peer with Level3.  We have
been operational since February of 2006.

 

We have plans to expand our network with another 150Mbps (OC3) once we
fill our current capacity.  We currently supply wholesale Dedicated
Internet Service to Starstream Communications/Wave Broadband in
Garberville plus offer Wireless High Speed Internet to businesses and
residences in the southern Humboldt area.  

 

If you know of any businesses that are looking for a minimum of 1Mbps
Dedicated Internet Service in the Eureka and surrounding areas please
send them our way.  We have licensed (6.xGhz) and unlicensed (2.4Ghz and
5.8Ghz) microwave radios that can create the link between our POP's and
the customer, with connections speeds of up to 135Mbps using scalable
Ethernet radios from 1-45Mbps or T1/DS3 radios.
