[RTC List] The Arcata Outage explained this AM in Times-Standard

Yesterday (Tuesday) I looked and searched to see if anyone had any  
idea why once again telecommunications were down on Monday.  Both our  
DSL and Suddenlink Cable were down for quite a while.  We got reports  
that electric was also out in other parts of Arcata and  
McKinleyville, but never any explanation until this AM.  What is odd  
though is that it only cites PG&E as having an electrical equipment  
failure for the power outage with no mention that cable, DSL and  
limited phone service was also affected.  We seemed to have the Cable  
back up around 8 PM, and when I had switched over to broadcast  
antenna, I found some local stations were pixelating during that  
time.  However, DSL was still out when going to sleep, but had come  
back on somewhere during the night.
