If anyone is interested in knowledge management practices in aerospace or
the use of Second Life for virtual meetings and/or conferences, next week
NASA is having a free KM session in Second Life that is open to the public.
This session is part of a three day workshop taking place at Caltech, where
knowledge management experts from all over the globe will be meeting to
discuss research and practice. I'll be attending physically at Caltech and
virtually as my avatar, Maritsa Zenovka. I hope to see some of you in
world!

The International Workshop on Managing Knowledge for Space Missions.
A historic first-- A NASA workshop held in the real world will also be
hosted in Second Life on Explorer Island, and at Caltech in the real world.
>From Second Life, search for "Explorer Island." Once you've teleported
there, click on any of the KM workshop signs for more information.
About the workshop:
Aerospace companies and government space agencies are working on a wide
variety of methods to capture, store, organize, and distribute key knowledge
from space experts and missions to explore space and the Earth around us.
These successful methods often involve a set of policies, processes, people,
and technologies in order to accomplish the goals of the organization. This
conference looks to bring together that distributed group and provide a
forum for shared understanding and conversations in how organizations are
successfully managing knowledge for space missions and how we can, as a
global community, do so in the future.
