[RTC List] (2) Free Wi-Fi available at Arcata/Eureka Airport

This is EXCEPTIONALLY good news. Not just for this too-frequent traveler  who 
once had to borrow a phone jack from an airport janitor to hook up to a  
dial-up connection in one of the phone booths. This is good news for our local  
economy, for local and non-local travelers, and for our reputation as a forward  
thinking tech community. Well done to all who worked on this important  
project.

This Wednesday, March 21, the  Arcata/Eureka airport began  providing free 
Wi-Fi service throughout the terminal thanks to support  from the RTC and the 
County's Division of Aviation.  C4I Security  of Eureka installed and manages 
the network.  
 

We want to thank everyone involved in  this project, including Jacquelyn 
Hulsey at the airport, Carson Park Design,  Agreda Communication, and especially 
the team at C4I Security who did a superb  job setting up the system within 
their proposed schedule and budget.    

 

 
Most importantly, thanks to  all of our members.  Without your support, we 
would not be able to do  this kind of project. 
The next time you're at the airport, I hope you'll  have a chance to bring 
your computer or PDA and check it  out.
