[RTC List] Suddenlink Offer

I guess it is time for a broadcaster to chime in here. There are NO
local stations broadcasting a HD digital over-the-air signal in this
market.

Suddenlink is picking up the Fox (KBVU) and CBS (KVIQ) signals directly
off a satellite feed and putting them into their digital tier. If you
are a Suddenlink subscriber you would need o have a HD converter box and
subscribe to the digital tier.

KEET is broadcasting two digital channels that can be picked-up only as
an over-the-air signal. One channel is merely our regular analog channel
up-converted to our digital transmitter. KEET’s second digital channel
is called /The World /and that is a news and public affairs channel that
is fed by PBS.

KEET’s analog and digital signals over-the-air signals have been on and
off the air recently due to the installation a new radio antenna for a
client on our tower. We have also been doing replacement of some tower
strobe lights and when a tower worker is on that tower ALL of our tower
clients must go off the air to protect the worker.

Many of the stations, including KEET, feed a signal directly to the
cable head-in via fiber from their studios, so the over-the-air signal
may not be there when work is being done on the tower but cable
subscribers continue to get their programming.
