[RTC List] Outage Coping notes

Though I would share these coping notes.

Part of our backup/ disaster planning and coping strategy.

1) Back up with multiple backups and store at at 3 physically
different locations for critical data.

2) We have an AOL account that we use for travel, emergencies and for
checking websites. Its lame but usually works for protracted outages.

3) We have our job/ project management system running on a web
server out of the area. It syncs 2x a day to an inhouse server so we
had access to it during the outage with minor syncing issues for what
we do.

4) We don't host any of our clients in the area. All our ecommerce
clients orders at least got taken during the day and were up and
running. ( on their own - only our local clients couldn't connect)
Great to see all the "orders processed" notifications when the
electrons started flowing again here.
Actually our 150+ sites are hosted in 3 different locations - and
they all get backed up too.

5) Stay calm.
