around $65, 000 annually however, we like to leave that negotiable depending
on the skills and experience of the candidate. The position is located in
the Eureka area and may require some travel from time to time."
SALARIED POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: IT (Information Technology) Manager DATE: 10/2/2007
REPORTS TO: Director of IT
SUMMARY:
Directs the overall Information Technology needs of the company. To provide
technical support,installation and maintenance on operating systems and
selected applications to ensure stable system performance. Evaluate system
specifications, input/output process, and working parameters for
hardware/software capabilities. Working conditions are normal for an office
environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. May be
called at anytime in a crises situation
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate user needs and system functionality.
Manage crises situations, involving technical hardware or software
problems.
Schedule upgrades and security backups for hardware and software systems.
Assure the smooth running of all IT systems, including anti-virus
software, print services and email.
Provide users with appropriate support and advice.
Ensure the security of all data from internal and external attack.
Planning developing and implementing the IT budget, obtaining competitive
prices from suppliers,
where appropriate, to ensure cost effectiveness.
Researching and installing new software and hardware.
Ensuring software license laws are adhered to.
Install and maintain approved operating systems, manufacturer updates and
related software.
Troubleshoot and resolve network and/or operating system problems.
Providing secure access to the network for remote users.
Collaborate with computer manufacturers and other users to develop new
programming methods.
Prepare various records and reports.
Maintain strict confidentiality of corporate correspondence and other
projects.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge of current IT systems and emerging technology.
Knowledge of budgeting
and strategic planning processes.
Strong project management skills.
Knowledge of current operating system programming languages.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to
motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and
simultaneously manage
several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:
5 or more years demonstrated Information Technology related management
experience, may substitute an equivalent combination of education and
experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities
of this position.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
