[RTC List] RTC Member Expertise Search

A very long time ago RTC folks had talked about creating a kind of 
knowledge bank where people could go to search for individuals or 
companies that offer a particular expertise. The effort never really got 
off the ground for many reasons. I think we have a fairly simple 
solution for this now.

Recently we upgraded the RTC site (which is running on Drupal: 
http://drupal.org) and installed a module suite called CiviCRM 
(http://civicrm.org/) to handle RTC Membership. This has allowed our 
Membership Roster to be more easily searched or filtered. It also means 
that membership renewal notices will go out automatically near the end 
of the year via email.  Additionally, people can join RTC through the 
web site using PayPal. The option to sign up and send in a check is also 
still available.

Getting back to the expertise issue: One of the features of CiviCRM is 
the ability to add tags (or keywords) and then associate those tags with 
members.  So I am asking for input from the member community. Please 
send me (please send directly to me not to the list) keywords/phrases 
that you would like to have associated with your listing in the site.  
Once we have compiled and standardized a good list we will add the 
ability to search/filter on those tags in the Member Roster. Try to make 
your tags specific. In other words, "consulting" is probably too general.

Network Administration
PC Repair
Drupal Development

Of course, this service is only available to current paid members. If 
you're not a current member and would like to join or renew, fees have 
been lowered as we're in the 2nd Quarter already (Business: $75, 
Individual: $30, Student: $10).
