"Community Media Visioning Session" to Convene on Tuesday April 29th at
5:30pm
Access Humboldt and Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commission host open
meeting
At future Community Media Center, Eureka High School
Access Humboldt and the Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commission will
host a "visioning session" to gather input and engage local media
producers in the development of Access Humboldt's Community Media Center
at Eureka High School. Visioning for next generation digital media
access will be followed by a tour of the future facilities, and
refreshments will be served.
Mary Cruse, Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commissioner said, "the
future for our digital media industry in Humboldt is going to be built
upon the skills, talents and shared vision of our community - so please
come join us and share your ideas.” Access Humboldt's Executive Director
Sean McLaughlin added, “We're inviting local media makers to help us
design and build our next generation digital media resources."
Access Humboldt's planned Community Media Center will house a high
definition recording studio and a range of digital media production
resources for the community - from beginners to advanced professionals.
The visioning session will include a brief presentation by Digital Media
Manager Jessemyn Reid and other experts reporting on the latest
developments unveiled at the recent National Association of
Broadcasters' (NAB) conference. Looking at trends and the newest
broadcasting technologies available, attendees will brainstorm and share
ideas for next generation digital media, and conclude with a tour of the
Community Media Center site, Hors d'oeuvres, and an opportunity for
networking.
Come share your ideas of what is needed to produce quality local
programming and meet other local media makers. The Community Media
Visioning Session will take place on Tuesday April 29th from 5:30 P.M.
to 7:30 P.M. on the Eureka High school campus, IT Building. This is a
drug and alcohol free event, open to the public.
Access Humboldt is a non-profit, community based, public service media
organization formed in 2006 to manage local cable franchise benefits on
behalf of Humboldt County, and the Cities of Eureka, Arcata, Fortuna,
Rio Dell, Ferndale and Blue Lake.
