RTC folks,

I'm sending this message out for all of you who either work with or
want to work with Final Cut Pro and want to transfer your video to the
Web. Tom Vorhees is one of this area's premier experts in Final Cut
Pro and has been doing workshops through Eureka Adult Education.
Unfortunately, his last workshop which had been planned to start last
week was under-subscribed (most likely due to inadequate promotion &
lack of word of mouth networking). As a student of his and one who
can attest to his ability to demystify a very complex subject, this is
definitely the up-and-coming technology when it comes to publishing on
the web. In any case, for those of you who may be interested, we need
to demonstrate our interest in this class so it can be rescheduled.
Here are the details if you're interested:

The workshop is called Final Cut Pro - Video for WEB. In this
workshop Tom will go over Log and Capture and Log and Transfer, simple
edits in the timeline, and exporting your movies for the web. Flash
and other technologies will be discussed and you will have access to
encoding to flash, quicktime or for DVD and much more. The workshop
will be held in the media lab at Eureka High School, 6:00 to 9: pm.
Tuesdays (dates to be determined). The price for the workshop (3
sessions) is $35 - a great deal by any measure!

If you're interested in attending this workshop (and demonstrating the
need for more workshops like this in the future), please write
directly to Tom at tommedia at variablemedia.com and tell him you're
interested and to add you to the list. Once he gets 10 or more
students lined up (and so far there are about a half dozen interested)
the Adult Ed folks will schedule a series of dates. With any luck we
can still get it to be scheduled to start in August. We need to
demonstrate our support for programs like this if we want to move the
area forward on the technology front so that Eureka Adult Ed will
continue to offer classes like this. Thanks for your help!

P.S. - Also, the following classes are being scheduled for this Fall
