Friends,

Due to several discussions over time that have veered off track and
included unnecessary personal comments, the Board has deemed it
necessary to create some policies and guidelines for use of this mailing
list. This should help everyone's understanding of what is appropriate.
The following policies are now in affect. They are posted on the List
info page at
http://redwoodtech.org/mailman/listinfo/list_redwoodtech.org and will
also go out in the welcome message when someone subscribes. If you
have issues with any of this, please address them to me personally, not
to the List. Thanks.

-------

This list is open to anyone to subscribe. It's a relatively low volume
list. However, discussions of tech issues do occur. You may also post
tech related job notices. RTC news, meeting information and meeting
notes are also posted to this list. A digest option is available if you
prefer receiving a collection of posts in a single email.

You must be a subscriber to the list to post. Messages sent to the list
from an email address that is not on the subscriber list will get sent
to a moderation queue. It is solely up to the Moderator if and when your
message will get passed to the list once it goes in to moderation. Most
likely it will be deleted. Therefore, post messages to the list from the
address that you are subscribed.

The list is meant to be a civil discussion of technology related topics.
Therefore the following activities are not permitted and may result in
your being deleted from the subscribers list. It is solely up the
discretion of the Moderator to decide if your post has crossed a line:

1) Self promotion (do not brag about your business or personal successes)
2) Personal attacks (keep your comments to the issues and not to
individuals)
3) Forwarding messages to the list without the express consent of the
original sender
4) Off-topic rants of any kind (however, discussion of politics as
specifically relate to technology policies is appropriate)
5) Sending attachments (please post your documents to an appropriate
place on the web and provide a link for people to download if they wish)

Thank you!
