If only Humboldt County had as reliable a connection to AT&T as the NSA
does, our redundancy issues would be a moot point. :-)

On another note, if AT&T spent anywhere near as much money on redundancy
as it spent on advertising in Humboldt County, the situation would be
quickly resolved. I've always wondered... what, exactly, is the point of
paying for advertising when you have a monopoly on the services you are
advertising, or (as in the case of their home video/cable services) you
don't even offer service in the area you are advertising (and probably
never will)? AT&T's billboard advertising in Humboldt County is about the
biggest waste of money that I can imagine.
