When I read this I'm wondering if the various local Tribal Offices
have been contacted as well. I know of a couple that were trying to
create a 501c3 called "Salient Endeavors" to address the unmet needs
of computers for "No (Local) Indian Child Left Behind." In recent
informal discussions amongst some of my fellow board members of a few
organizations I belong to, plus fellow Apple Consultants, we are also
just beginning to discuss the idea of the small laptop computers that
are being sent to Africa, to also perhaps serve the needs of some of
our local Native American children - such as in some parts of the
Yurok and Hoopa Reservations there is not even electricity, and one
school house that runs on a generator.
