[RTC List] April Membership meeting reminder

A reminder that the RTC Membership Meeting is this Thursday, May 8, at 5:30 pm.  The meeting will be held at the Humboldt Area Foundation, Conference Room.

The program this month will include the winner of this year's "Don Wolski Memorial Scholarship," reading her winning essay.  The featured speaker is Mary Cruse from the Humboldt Film and Digital Media Commission.  The presentation will be about the changing role of the HFDMC, working towards economic development in the media sector, while positioning Humboldt County as a more competitive location for visiting film productions.

 Topics discussed will include:

*The kinds of businesses, organizations, and individuals who will benefit from the development of a digital media hub. 

*The changing trends in the entertainment industry. This includes short-content media, interactive media, creating content for the Web and distribution and exhibition opportunities.

*Networking opportunities here and outside our area.
