[RTC List] Vermont Telecom Chooses Towers Over Cables for Statewide Broadband

Montpelier *-- Six weeks after it denied funding to a
high-profile initiative to extend fiber-optic Internet cables to 23
towns, the Vermont Telecommunications Authority (VTA) said this week
that it will be using its $40 million of state bonds in a very
different way -- to build hundreds of towers providing cell-phone and
wireless Internet service.
