[RTC List] Suddenlink performance the last 5 days

Just a guess here, as I don't use Suddenlink, but do you have any way of
checking the number of packet errors and/or timeouts? Are some of the
pings never completed at all? A traceroute would probably be a lot more
revealing than a simple ping test.
As for the line about AT&T refusing to sell Suddenlink more capacity,
that's BS. It may have been true before they installed the fiberoptic link
into Humboldt County, but it certainly isn't the case now. Besides, it's
not like you have to go through AT&T directly to buy high-capacity
Internet access, anyway. I highly doubt that Suddenlink even uses AT&T as
their datacomm provider, as they are generally more expensive to get
service from than others. There are dozens of ISPs, CLECs, carriers and
resellers who will be glad to sell you as much capacity as you want around
here. A lot of them will bundle phone service with capacities of a T1 or
higher as well.
