It is worth noting that IP Network's Highway 36 project did make the state
list as well.

Broadband folks,

Got this today from John Irwin. The information is really important and I
have one question - it's nearly a month old so how come no one heard of this
here (and spread the word) within our network? We should be sharing this
info when it comes out. Please read and take note of State priorities.
This doesn't guarantee ARRA funding, but it reflects the State's
priorities. Download the pdf and take a look - interesting reading...

Heard about this a few weeks ago. It is good news. I had an itty bitty
teeny tiny part in this by helping to expedite an LOI with Charter for
internet access (10 Mb). This gets a wireless feed from CC to Requa and
then other hops to finally get up river to Weitchpec.

Based on the governor's prioritization of ARRA projects (not binding on the
NTIA), it looks like the Redwood Telephone (101 project) did not make the
cut.

See:
http://www.recovery.ca.gov/Content/Documents/letters/source/Strickland,_Larry_-_Broadband_-_10.14.09_w_attachment.pdfSo
we may be back figuring out a way to make that Eureka to Crescent City
reach.

Access Mendo made the governor's list.

SR 299 made the cut (Broadband Associates) as did the Hoopa local
distribution project.
