[RTC List] Tech Beat opening for an author

Greetings all you tech heads out there  ...
 
If you are an Redwood Technology Consortium member and want to try out  
writing a Tech Beat column for the Tech Thursday section of the Times-Standard, 
 which also runs in the Humboldt Beacon and Redwood Times, here is your 
chance.  We have the following opening:
 
Article due Dec 10
Publication date Dec 17
 
The rules of engagement appear below. This is a great way to tell your  
story and help the RTC serve as the tech education resource for the  community. 
We have periodic openings during the year so the more interest, the  
better. This benefit is only available to RTC members. Thanks for your  
consideration.

TECH BEAT Rules of  Engagement 
##  Articles should be 500 - 800  words 
##  Target it toward a general  audience with an interest in tech. If you 
include jargon, be sure to explain it.   
##  It's okay to write about how your  company or organization utilizes 
technology, but please, no blatant sales  pitches. 
##  Include a short 1-2 sentence  bio/company description at the end 
##  Send a photo of yourself if you  haven't already done so  
##  The published articles will be  posted to the RTC website and will be 
copyrighted to the Times-Standard  with this notice: Copyright 20__, Eureka 
Times-Standard  Newspaper. The print version of this article first appeared 
in the _____ edition  of the Times Standard.  
Send your finished article to Chris  Crawford (_crawfordca at aol.com_ 
(mailto:crawfordca at aol.com) ) … as a back-up you can  send it to Rene Agredano 
(_rene at agreda.com_ (mailto:rene at agreda.com) ). Rene and Chris will edit  your 
article if it doesn't fall within the maximum word count, then submit it to  
the Times Standard, Humboldt Beacon and Redwood  Times.
