Rural Broadband Policy Group,
Help us contact the FCC
Ø I’m passing along the text of the email Rural Strategies has sent
to FCC staff for you to modify into your own personalized email if you
like.
Below the text are the email addresses and names of the staff members
in charge of wireless/spectrum for each of the commissioners.
Ø I also listed the main phone numbers to each commissioner’s office
if you’re interested in calling. I will be calling today to simply
reiterate the points made on the emails.
Thanks!
Edyael

Dear Ms./Mr. _______:
My name is___________________, I am with___________________, [describe
yourself/organization/business here].
I am writing in support of testimony by the Rural Broadband Policy
Group, a growing national coalition of rural broadband advocates who
seek to articulate national broadband policies that provide
opportunities for rural communities to participate fully in the
nation’s democracy, economy, culture, and society.
I write to share timely comments on the TV White Spaces proposal
currently before the FCC.
The groups and people we work with think the original TV White Spaces
proposal is going to help connect and invigorate rural America. We
would like to see the original proposal approved by the FCC.
Specifically, we are not happy with some late suggested changes such
as the licensing of channels for backhaul – or what we have heard
called the Fiber Tower/Spring proposal. We oppose that.
We would also like to express our support in favor of the proposal
from WISPA for variable power and antenna heights in rural areas.
We are most concerned that the unlicensed use of TV White Spaces serve
community and local purposes, not build infrastructure for big telcos.
Unlicensed spectrum is a critical resource that will enable local
organizations, communities, and individuals who traditionally do not
have access to infrastructure to create new products and spur
competition in rural areas. We are very excited about the opportunity
this new technology will provide for un-served and under-served rural
areas, and we look forward to working with the Commission to implement
the original plan for White Spaces.
Sincerely,
YOUR NAME/ADDRESS/E/Tel...
