<div>All,</div>
<div> </div>
<div> </div>
<div> Is anyone working on a community wide Continuity Plan for this? It seems important to address the issue with the technology and options we have today until a better solution (backup fiber) can be implemented. From the discussion it looks like we have some options that people are using:
</div>
<div> </div>
<div>1. Analog dialup (to a POP outside of the area)</div>
<div>2. Hughes Net</div>
<div>3. <a href="http://101netlink.com/">http://101netlink.com/</a></div>
<div><br clear="all"> I am curious if we have identified any others while people have identified issues in first response and commerce is anyone in the local Police Department, Hospital or University had experience with a specific impact that needs to be addressed? I am not aware of all the systems in place in Humboldt that require external connectivity on the governement end. I seem to remember them using frame relay for many connections that may still operate over copper.
</div>
<div> Any service or company that has migrated to VOIP or VPN for connection to resources outside or the area is probably going to be significantly impacted. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>P.S. Who would be the central body coordinating the After Action Review on this kind of event. It seems there must be a lot of imperical data on the impact since this has occurred so many times. </div>
